Background
After orcs invaded the Green Isle,[1] its human populace was forced to flee east to the Great Continent, led by Prince Haldric.[2] Upon arriving at the Great Continent, the refugees were met by Lady Dionli, who brought them before the Ka'lian, situated in the Grey Woods.[3] The council eventually agreed to allow the humans to settle in the plains surrounding the Great River and the hills to the south of the Great River, on the condition that Haldric complete four quests.[4]
Lord Aryad decreed that Haldric be made to enter a cave in the Brown Hills and drive out the trolls therein.[4] Haldric and his men were led by an elven guide to the entrance of the cave.[5]

Once inside the cave, Haldric queried what the trolls would be like. Burin warned him of their aggression and regenerative abilities, while Lady Jessene assured him that the fight would be difficult, given that the elves had not carried out the attack themselves. They fought their way past creatures in a nearby moat and slew the two troll warriors, who were either Erart, Raol, Rilg, or Gulg. Eventually, they successfully defeated the trolls, and Haldric led his men out of the cave.[5]
Notes
- ^ Typhon's merfolk were recruitable only on easy difficulty. On other difficulties, only merfolk veterans could be recalled.[3]
- ^ a b c d There was only a 50% chance that this unit was present in the troll hole at the time.
