Gameplay
The scenario is normally a calm one with only a minor optional skirmish, but a quest to protect the tower from orcs may occur.
Normal state
Largo and Hugo start from the main gate at the south. The signposts can be used to teleport between areas quickly. Moving to the door at the highest point of the tower will lead to the "The Ivory Tower: Ground Floor" scenario.
All NPCs can be talked to, although most of the guards only respond in generic phrases. As for the others:
- Dylii can be talked to for information about the place.
- Wuhac can be talked to for the quest involving fighting scorpions in the northwest part of the map. The scorpions are the only hostiles for the player to fight in the scenario. Completing the quest gives the player 65 gold.
- Hutti can be talked to for buying these quest items: siren's blood (for 40 gold), rose oil (for 30 gold), crystalline vial (for 60 gold).
- Droso can be talked to for selling books (for 10 gold each) and the Scroll of Honor (for 50 gold, but Droso will disappear from the map on subsequent visits).
Orc attack
Largo and Hugo start on the player's ship where they can recall and exiting the ship leads to the southern shore of the map, Throughout the island, there are scattered units of the allied Dunefolk and the enemy orcs. To win, the player must kill all the orcs. Death of Dylii is a defeat condition. There is no turn limit.
After killing all the orcs, the player must move Largo or Hugo to besides Dylii and pick the reward. Afterwards, the scenario will immediately end. The possible rewards are:
- 20 XP for each mariner (if the player declines the gold reward),
- 100 gold for each mariner (if the player accepts the offered gold reward),
- 150 gold for each mariner (if the player demands double), and
- 200 gold for each mariner (if the player shows their Scroll of Honor)
