The Ivory Tower: Reading Room

"The Ivory Tower: Ground Floor" is a scenario from The Altaz Mariners, being a part of "The Ivory Tower" island scenario. It is accessed through the "Ground Floor" scenario and leads to the "Library" scenario.

Storyline

Gameplay

Largo and Hugo start at the bottom-center of the map, right next to the trapdoor that leads back to the "Ground Floor" map and next to the staircase to the "Library" scenari. A Librarian blocks the staircase and to get him out of the way, the player must either have two book (which will be given away) or the Scroll of Honor in their inventory.

There are four signposts that can be used to teleport to the west, south, and east ends of the room.

There are two notable NPCs in this map:

• Calron, the Dark Sorcerer at the eastern section. He is the father of Chillton from the "Temple of Ice. If the player tells Calron that Chillton has been promoted, he will give 50 gold to give to Chillton (the mariners will just pocket it for themselves). If the player has "given" the gift to Chillton in "Temple of Ice", Calron will reward the player with 15 gold.
• Hully, the mage in the center room. He would give the player pieces of gold (usually 20) for each island the player tells him about. The islands that can be talked about are Altaz Gaol (has to be talked about first to unlock the rest), Polupa (10 gold), Lantos, Black Rock, Slavenia, Peoria Ruins, Mertropolis, and Avalon (40 gold).
