About Me
I am Oreb, Lord of the Darthien. I am currently maintaining the Sidhe, which are the feared Wild Elves. I like re-coding wesnoth to make it my hacked version everynow and then, but always keeping the original so I don't have to redownload.
What I have been involved in
I have been involved in many projects since I first joined Wesnoth. The first was the Dark Elves, but alas the Dark Elf project died because their wasn't much positive feedback from the Wesnoth Community. I was involved in the Map making and giving feedback. Such as, balancing some of the units.
During the making of the Dark Elves, I decided to try my own little campaign venture called "Elf RPG." I had great help with it, but due to a major bug in the coding I was forced to shut down the project. But, with my word, it will be completed. For I myself am learning C++ coding and will revisit all the .cfg's and redo them.
Due to my friends idea (Shadowblitz), I made a faction about Werewolves. But what my friend had in mind was utterly absurd. A Civilised, Magic-casting society of Werewolves. But with the help of my other friend (Logan) and Jester, who now currently is in charge of the Werewolves, remade the Werewolves as a warrior race with wolven counterparts. I turned the control over to Logan, and just sat back in the shadows and just said a few comments now and then. When Jester started making the art and .cfg's we thought it was right to hand the controls over to him.
Finally, I was involved in the testing of the feared Sidhe. Providing replays to help balance the race so it would be a fair game versing them. When Thunderblade reapeared after his time away from the forums, everyone was ready to continue the Wil Elves. But alas, he left again and a discussion was formed as to who would take over. It fell to me and I greatfully took control of the Sidhe, and started changes to the race.
Wild Elves
The Wild Elves are a faction of elves that have migrated to the Old Continent in search of new land and enemies to conquer. For they have lost the New Continent to the Elves, Dwarves and High Elves. With the aid of the Frost Elves, they navigated through the Ice Caps to reach their new land. Upon Arrival the Marauders, who at the time had owned all of the Northern Forests, attacked the intruders but was slowly forced back into the forests they now control. With the Frost Elves satisfied with the Land they had, made a treaty with the Marauders, but the Sidhe would have no part in it. The Forst Elves and Marauders exchanged their nobles sons, and so the Elves learnt of War while the Marauders learnt of Magic.
A while later, the Sidhe sent out for full conquest of the Marauders, and the battle raged on for years, but as such, the Frost Elves treaty with the Marauders meant, that the Sidhe would be battling two foes, and when the Frost Elves arrived, the Sidhe backed off. There would be many wars between the Sidhe and the Marauders for a long time, both hating eachother, and both not relenting.
With a small truce between all 3, the Sidhe expanded the Forest borders by planting more seedlings, in hope of having their ancestors guard the outer rims of the forest.
Decades Later the Lavinian Empire has grown and has taken all of the central plains and all the other factions have been assimilated under Lavinian rule and now Lavinia has turned towards the Sidhe Forests. The Wild Elves prepared their defences and set up for a long war. When the war began the Trackers where sent out in force on missions of assassination. For they were faster than any other unit and could poison the Lavinians, and the armour worn by Lavinia had its weakness, spears. So the Lavinian Leaders were killed, while the grunts of the force fought on the main line, while being surrounded by Trackers and Warriors. Their doom was certain.
Many more years later, with the rise of the Marauder Power, they decided to take Lavinia, with its democratic society already crumbling from the inside. With all of the Marauder Warriors gone, the Sidhe entered their lands and killed all resistence, and sent the Women and Children out into the plains. Knowing that they will soon be at war with the Marauders once they return, the build up forts throughout the forests.
The Frost Elves and Marauders returned to their lands, with fresh supplies from the conquered Lavinia, and were ready for war. It raged many a year, with no one winning or losing. Until the Frost Elves attacked from behind. When being pressed from both sides, the Sidhe left the Marauder Lands, retreating to the Fortress. Planning on when to next attack.
