Creating Art and Music

Graphic artists and musicians usually meet on the forum. This page has the briefest of guidelines for what is used in-game.

Art

Unit and terrain art is in portable network graphics (png) format. Hexes are 72 x 72 pixels with an alpha (transparency) channel. The game also supports jpeg graphics, which are better suited for story art. Discussion of art standards, image editing programs, pixel art drawing tips, and the game's art needs can be found on the forum. There is a Graphics Library of art posted on the forum that you can use for ideas. Perhaps the best example of this came from the user neoriceisgood.

Music

In-game music is in .ogg format, which is similar to the .mp3 format, only it's completely free. Sound effects are in .wav format, but can be in .ogg format -- this is crucial information for a campaign writer trying to reduce download size.
