From The Battle for Wesnoth Wiki

I was first introduced to Battle for Wesnoth by one of my good friends who in the early part of 2009. I remember that we used to play against each other online quite a bit for about a month or so. Wesnoth was a new addiction for a while. As with most things, however, other more important plans eventually led to my and his drifting away from the game. Fast-forwarding to the present, I picked up Wesnoth again around the beginning of March 2010 and started playing the single-player campaigns - something I had not done until then. It was from there and a nagging want to create something that I decided I wanted to make a campaign for Wesnoth. I am now off creating "Merman Tellius and the Island of Doom" which I hope will turn out well.

Merman Tellius and the Island of Doom (unreleased, Wesnoth 1.7.13-1.8 beta)

Merman Tellius, heir to the throne of the Lake Vrug merfolk kingdom Veruun, investigates a plague that is ailing the merfolk of Wesnoth. However, his search for the cure to the plague reveals something far more sinister than anyone realized.

About

MTID is my first attempt at a campaign. The idea came about when I played the "Bay of Pearls" scenario in the "Heir to the Throne" campaign. What I had in mind, at the time, was a scenario where merfolk had to cross the ocean and gain a foothold on an island, kind of in a World War II D-Day style. I liked the idea and, from there, I soon decided to make that into a reality. I fleshed out a story which began as a very pulp-esque kind of thing (hence the fun title) and just started working on the campaign from there.

News

March 04, 2010 - I currently have the first scenario and story introduction finished. The first scenario is a talk-only scenario, so it does not count much towards getting anywhere near finished. I am currently working on custom units for the campaign. I already finished the hero unit before I completed the first scenario, but I have several more to go because of the nature of the story and the characters. After they are done, I will get to work on the second scenario as that is where the campaign's first battle takes place.
