Talk:Campaign/Forgotten Legacy/The Great River

From The Battle for Wesnoth Wiki

Story

In this scenario, S'Sakin and his band move through the Darkbark forest in order to reach the Bay of Pearls where Iktha Toskh friend resides.

However the elves seem determined not to let them pass and those elves like to play cruel games on their prey.

S'Saskin reaches the bridge but finds out it's been destroyed so he now must make a choice. Either head to the west and brave the forest filled with Elves, or head to the east and try to pass through the Fords of the Ogres.

If the head to the west, they mostly encounter elves ambushing them from the foliage and have the chance to save some Saurians being toyed with, after they pass the Great River, they find the leader of the elves Analeiros, waiting for them.

To the east, they first must pass through a collapsed tomb, of a great human hero that died in ancient times. There they have a chance to find his holy weapon which is the only way to defeat the spirit guarding him.

If they make it through, they have to show their strength to the Ogres who give them a chance to pass peacefully after that in echange for gold.

Finally, they make a turn and reach the end of the road where Analeiros is waiting for them.

Problems

  • I tried to make ghosts harass the players as they move through but for some reason, their leader does not recruit them, even though he has enough gold.
  • The Ogre choices are still untested, I need someone to make sure they work. The players have four choices: Give 250 gold and get 2 ogres, give 150 gold and just pass, give 50 gold and get ambushed or just fight it. If the Ogre leader is killed, his keep can be used to recruit more Saurians.
  • I still haven't designed the Saurians that are toyed with in the forest. They will need to be rescued in order to join the players.
  • I still haven't designed Analeiros' forces but they need to give a good battle.
  • I'm afraid the map has too much boring walking parts. Opinions?
