Historian's Notes

This is a collection of biographies, anecdotes, heroic (and dastardly) deeds by some of Wesnoth's most notable figures. Figures are listed in ascending alphabetical order, sorted by first name. Record keeping of dates uses the same chronology as can be found in the Wesnoth History section. The appearance of a triple question mark (???) marks information that needs to be verified.

  • Background Information

"Identity curses men from birth. Konrad, forgive me for that which I shoulder you with. I pray you wear it as a badge on your heart, not a stone around your neck." - Delfador, at the coronation of Konrad

Would Parandra not have been so prudent and benevolent, the boy who grew into Konrad, King of Wesnoth would not be sung in the minstrels tunes. Konrad never knew his real parents. His real parents abandoned him in a copse a few strides off of an Elvish trade route. Parandra, knowing the human child's parents had distanced themselves by miles at this point (alluded to by certain smells emanating from the child's swaddled garments) pushed aside all hope. She picked up the child and took him in as her own.

Delfador arrived sometime after with the grim evidence of his failed rescue of Prince Konrad. Parandra and Delfador discussed at length the appearance of the nameless orphan boy. Both of them bared their worries that this plan, this trick wouldn't work were the boy old enough to reason on their own. Staring down at the orphan in his new crib, touched by his liveliness and cheer, they agreed give him a chance to be the heir to the throne of Wesnoth.

And on this day, the unknown orphan left for dead received a second chance in life as fugitive Prince Konrad.

Delfador raised Konrad as his son....
