somewhere in first game creation screen there should be a list from which one can choose possible scheme of players randomization. There would be at least those options:

  • complete randomness
  • alliances randomness (teams depend on sides)
  • team randomness (player chooses sides but not his allies)
  • allies randomness (player chooses team, but no the side)
  • randomness in borders of team (random side from the chosen team)

The host should then be able to set teams for sides on the second creation screen and the min/max of players for each side, in addition to teams of players. At default all the options would be set to random. The options that remain random when game starts would be randomized, and if it's impossible, the game should not allow host to start.

This allows host to do anything he might want to do. Fe. all is completely random, but one of players will have his team and side set by host and the one of sides will be always in one of teams.
