1. Basics

1.1 Write a small introduction to yourself.

I'm 21 years old student from Zagreb, Croatia. With passion for coding and gaming I study Computer Science on University of Zagreb. I was active in competitive programming since high school and continously doing some interesting projects on the side. Big fan of Unix based operating systems, open source projects and lightweight tools. I'm a very quick learner and beside programming i love playing futsal, football, table tennis, and street workout.

1.2 State your preferred email address.

Blesso

1.4 Why do you want to participate in summer of code?

Summer of code is perfect opportunity for gaining invaluable experience in working on a big project, getting a better look inside all the problems and benefits that comes with it. Another reason is to meet other good people and learn as much as i can from their coding and thinking.

1.5 What are you studying, subject, level and school?

I'm studying computer science at Faculty of Electrical Engeneering and Computer Science in Zagreb. Currently I am on 2nd year.

1.6 What country are you from, at what time are you most likely to be able to join IRC?

I'm from Croatia, and able to join IRC in 10am-12pm GMT+1 period

I've done some small individual projects, worked on a student project site with python/Django, made http server in Java, and few android applications

2.2) Have you developed software in a team environment before? (As opposed to hacking on something on your own)

Yes I was in a team of 5 students competing in national application making contest developing android application. Then I was competing in code challenge with a team that had 2 more students.

2.3) Have you participated to the Google Summer of Code before? As a mentor or a student? In what project? Were you successful? If not, why?

This is the first time for me to apply on gsoc.

2.4) Are you already involved with any open source development projects? If yes, please describe the project and the scope of your involvement.

No I am not.

2.5) Gaming experience - Are you a gamer?

2.5.1) What type of gamer are you?

In gaming I allways try to think one step ahead of the opponent and win with good strategy and tactics. I often try to think out of the box and predict another person moves.

I prefer PVP games where every person has equal chances of winning at the beginning and pure skill is what gets you to victory

I started playing Wesnoth 2 years ago and played it every now and then when i get some free time. My prefered style is multiplayer although the campaigns are pretty much interesting

2.6) If you have contributed any patches to Wesnoth, please list them below. You can also list patches that have been submitted but not committed yet and patches that have not been specifically written for GSoC. If you have gained commit access to our repository (during the evaluation period or earlier) please state so.

I can distinguish useless critiques easily

3.7) How autonomous are you when developing ? Would you rather discuss intensively changes and not start coding until you know what you want to do or would you rather code a proof of concept to see how it turn out, taking the risk of having it thrown away if it doesn't match what the project want

Before coding i like to discuss intensively changes, brainstorm other possible, mabye better, solution and ask many people for their opinion and feedback

4. Project

5.2) Which tools do you normally use for development? Why do you use them?

5.3) What programming languages are you fluent in?

5.4) Would you mind talking with your mentor on telephone / internet phone? We would like to have a backup way for communications for the case that somehow emails and IRC do fail. If you are willing to do so, please do list a phone number (including international code) so that we are able to contact you. You should probably *only* add this number in the application for you submit to google since the info in the wiki is available in public. We will *not* make any use of your number unless some case of "there is no way to contact you" does arise!
