"Temple of Ice" is a scenario from The Altaz Mariners, being one of the campaign's visitable island. Its location within the world map is originally hidden and has to be discovered through one of the several possible methods, including visiting Morteau twice.

Characters
Player's sides
* Largo
* Hugo
* Previously recruited followers (Act 2)
* Marco (Act 3)

Brotherhood of Ice
* Jon Snow
* Bittertooth
* Hydra
* Coldfist
* Nippy
* Shadow Fang
* Frozenheart

Royals
* Sir Eldrid (Act 3)
* Wyatt (Act 3)

Storyline
Act 2
Largo and Hugo visit the island to find out about the storm barrier blocking their journey to the south. After receiving the confirmation that the storm is conjured by the Brotherhood of Ice and that the only way to pass it is by using a mana orb, the brothers acquire one from the temple.

Act 3
Largo, Hugo, and Marco are teleported to the island from Avalon for their mission to force the Brotherhood to lower the storm barrier. Marco suggests that they abandon the elves now that they are safe back north, but claims it is just a loyalty test after Largo and Hugo voice their disgust at the idea of betraying the elves who saved their lives.

However, upon entering the temple, the brothers are surrounded by elite royals led by Sir Eldrid, who come to arrest them as the royals know that the people who have seen south of the storm cannot be trusted. With no way to escape, Largo, Hugo, and Marco find themselves captured and taken away.

Gameplay
The island consists of two maps both titled "Temple of Ice". The first map played when entering from the world map is the map of the island, while the second is the inside of the temple. To enter the inside, the player must step on the stairwell in the center (which can be inaccessible depending on the player's current gameplay state).

Act 2
Island map
Largo, Hugo, and all followers start in the southeast harbor of the island. The stairwell to access the temple is initially blocked by a petrified Revenant. To get the Revenant out of the way, pick up some conspicuous-looking snow from north and east of the temple, then use it (via the inventory) on the stones that haven't been snowed in.

Besides being a way to enter the temple map, the island map has an NPC named Bittertooth in the northwest shore of the island that requires the player to have siren's blood in the inventory. Completing the quest is beneficial for future scenario "Solant".

Temple map
In the temple, the main goal is to obtain an orb for crossing the storm barrier. To do so, the player can either buy one from Shadow Fang for 100 gold or steal one from a locked room.

While in the temple, the player's reputation score is tracked and it can be checked by talking to Coldfist near the entrance. A negative score prevents the player from accessing some quests. The player should be careful with choosing dialogue options as they may lower their reputation.

The temple consists of:
* The entrance room for talking with Coldfist, where the player can donate 10 gold for 1 reputation score.
* Icewind's room, located north of the entrance room. The room has a couple of bookshelves to check. Returning Icewind's scroll (found in one of the bookshelves, not necessarily in this room) earn the player 3 reputation score and access to additional dialogue options with Icewind. The significant dialogue options are asking about Icewind's studies and then about Xavier (to access the lich figurehead) and telling him about Morteau (to get 1 reputation score, but only if the player has negative reputation and already sided against Morteau instead of with him).
* Xavier shrine, located west of Icewind's room. There is a book and a lich figurehead that can be picked up (reducing the player's reputation score by 1 for each item). The Icewind quest must be completed to access the items.
* Rum room, located between Xavier shrine and the central room. There are two rums that can be taken, but doing this requires the player to learn a barrel spell from one of the bookshelves.
* Study room, located south of the entrance room. The room has a couple of bookshelves to check. If the player has a positive reputation, they can talk to Winterbane for a quest of choosing which adept should be promoted to a sorcerer. Choosing any options other than Nippy and Articas earn the player 1 reputation score; choosing Chillton is connected to the Calron quest in "The Ivory Tower: Reading Room".
* Frost's room, located between the study room and the central room. The room has a couple of bookshelves to check.
* Nippy's room, located southwest of the central room and distinguished by its watery terrain. There is a hidden Bone Shooter in the corner of the room. After destroying the Bone Shooter, the player can report Nippy to Coldfist to progress the Nippy quest.
* The central room, where Shadow Fang is. To be able to buy a mana orb from him, the player must have a positive reputation score and then peacefully asks how to cross the storm barrier.

Act 3
Largo, Hugo, and Marco start on the island map near the temple's entrance. The player simply needs to move to the entrance to finish the map. The subsequent temple map is just a cutscene that leads to the "Solant" scenario.

Revisiting the island again afterwards has no value, with the entrance to the temple being blocked.

Trivia
* Kashmir would say "We go to the land of the ice and snow" here, a reference to the lyrics of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song".

Storyline
First visit
Largo and Hugo are teleported from Lantos to safety by Elma to Avalon's southern courtyard where she explains to the mariners that the creatures attacking them on Lantos are drakes and that no one has a way to defeat the drake army so far. Elma tells the brothers to meet Marco at the northern courtyard. As they walk there, Largo and Hugo reminisce about their past adventures with Marco and their time hating Marco while imprisoned. Upon encountering Marco, Largo and Hugo immediately fight their older brother and defeat them. However, Glorin stops them from killing Marco, explaining that Marco is only putting up a show to satisfy his brothers' vengeance and he has shown his repentance as he was the one who asked the elves to save Largo and Hugo in Lantos. Largo and Hugo reluctantly agree to spare Marco.

After establishing some peace with Marco, Largo and Hugo join the discussion about the drake threat and tell the elves about the Temple of Ice's involvement in creating the storm barrier that blocks the drakes from invading north while leaving the southern lands to die. The council decide that the Brotherhood of Ice must be forced to lower the barrier so that the royals would be forced to help everyone deal with the drakes. Using Elma's one-way teleportation magic, Largo, Hugo, and Marco are sent to the Temple.

Second visit
Largo and Hugo return on Fieltor's ship from Fire Abbey and bring the news of their mission's failure, the royal's protection of Frozenheart, and Marco's betrayal. Glorin decides that they have to wage war against King Tylon who has moved to Fort Liberty along with Frozenheart for their safety. As the elves have no way of sending all their troops to the north of the storm barrier, they entrust Largo and Hugo to amass an army to attack the fort, which they happily agree with, especially as they will get another chance at vengeance towards Marco. Largo and Hugo note that they can gain support from Renaldo (and if the Black Blade quest is done, Deliana), and Glorin sends them some elves troops as well. Elma informs the brothers that their ship has survived the drake attack on Lantos along with their crew and they proceed to use is to sail back north.

Gameplay
Largo and Hugo start at the bottom side of the map and have to talk to Elma to be let through. After a couple of turns walking north, they would reach the northern courtyard where Marco is. They must move adjacent to Marco twice to start the fight and defeat him. After defeating Marco, talk to Glorin to end the scenario (both dialogue options lead to the same outcome).

The following scenarios on this map are practically cutscenes with very simple objective of talking to Elma and then moving to the player's ship. Both player sides does get one loyal Elvish Captain, one loyal Elvish Fighter, and one loyal Elvish Archer each before leaving. Returning to the island afterwards has no value.

Trivia
* If Kashmir moves in this scenario, he will quote Led Zeppelin's "The Battle of Evermore" lyrics, "I'm waiting for the angels of Avalon, waiting for the eastern glow."
While their followers are recalled on their ship, there is no way to move unit between the ship and the island. There are two hexes to be visited here: the staircase in the middle of the island (which progresses the Steven quest if it has started) and the burned village in the south of the island (which finishes the scenario). Revisiting the island has no value.
Largo and Hugo arrive on the island and find the elves' leader Athena asking for help in poems. Upon spotting the undead skeletons causing the trouble, the mariners help the elves and woses to get rid of undead, discovering that they are men led by Sir Horas along time ago to gain immortality from the Fountain of Life and are happy to be put to rest. After the undead threat is gone, the mariners may visit the island again to cure themselves using the Fountain.

Gameplay
Battle
The map is an island shaped like a reversed "U", with Largo, Hugo, and followers starting in the west end of the island near Athena's keep while Sir Horas's keep is on the opposite end of the island. The player's sides can recruit Woses and Elvish Shamans, as well as recalling any other units in the starting keep, and are given one loyal Wose and one loyal Elvish Shaman each. Athena starts with an Elvish Shaman and will recruit more Elvish Shamans and Wose Saplings as her side gains more villages and income. Sir Horas recruits Skeletons and Skeleton Archers with 200 starting gold and has 12 starting units (mostly Skeletons and Skeleton Archers, along with two Revenants and two Chocobones). Defeat Sir Horas and moves to his keep under 40 turns to win the scenario.

There are two jewels that can be taken in the map: one near the northwest corner of the map, one near the path to Sir Horas' keep.

Post-battle
Everyone now is located near the Fountain of Life in the east end of the island. The Fountain can be used to remove any curses gained from other scenarios. The first time this island is revisited after the player visits the Ivory Tower, a falcon shows up at the start to announce the quest to be done for when the player goes to the tower again.

Mikal can train Largo, Hugo, and followers to gain the heal +8 and cures ability for a flower taken from Thantos Jungle.
The mariners may offer to give them the location of the weapon cache in Peoria Ruins and ask them to join the final battle in Fort Liberty, if they haven't offered the same to Renaldo in Farrow first.
* Tudoc, a Fugitive "hiding" in a village around the center of the map, offers training the mariners and their followers in the stealth ability for 30 gold.
The scenario ends by moving a unit to the marked spot after 6 turns or after defeating the enemies.

Fishermen variation
In the fishermen variation, there are two smaller fishermen ships containing four Peasants between the player's ship and the pirates. Killing all enemy pirates with some Peasants remaining will give the player extra reward depending on how many of them are saved:
* 2 Peasants: a barrel of rum
* 3 Peasants: 20 gold for each player
* 4 Peasants: 40 gold for each player

In this variation, the pirate ship has no cargo on its own.

To complete the campaign, it is necessary to buy a dhow from Grobin for 100 gold. If the player still Ordon and Mocco as their followers, the ogres will leave the party when the player finishes the scenario by stepping onto the dhow.
Largo, Hugo, and followers start at the southwest shore of the island. There are a couple of temples throughout the map that can be looted for gold, items, and cargo, but most of the temples are occupied by a philosopher. To move a philosopher out of the way, the player must talk to him and another philosopher that have the opposite opinion, and then argue that one of them is wrong. The argued philosopher will leave to talk with their counterpart before returning to his home temple, meaning the time to loot the temple is limited. The pairings are as follows:
* Aristotle (provoked by arguing that "philosophers" should rule) and Plato (provoked by endorsing "democracy")
* Heraclitus (provoked by arguing that the nature of things is "unchanging") and Parmenides (provoked by saying only "change" itself is unchanging).
* Zeno (provoked by saying "pleasure" is the root of happiness) and Epicurus (provoked by saying "virtue" is the root of happiness)

At the end of the main path, there is Socrates who may provide the player with a book if the player asks to be educated.

Trivia
* All the philosophers are named and have their beliefs based after real Greek philosophers. Hellenia itself is named after "Hellen" which is another word for Greek.
Storyline
Act 2
Largo and Hugo visit the island to find out about the storm barrier blocking their journey to the south.

Act 3

Act 3
Trivia
* Kashmir would say "We go to the land of the ice and snow" here, a reference to the lyrics of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song".
The scenario has four possible states, depending on the player's choices.

Characters
Player's sides
* Largo
* Hugo
* Any previously recruited units and followers

Dr. Morteau's side
* Dr. Morteau
* Morteau's helpers

Sayer's side
* Sayer
* Nameless creatures

Storyline
Largo and Hugo land on a creepy island inhabitated by Dr. Morteau and his helpers on the east part of the island and Morteau's failed experiments led by Sayer on the west. Both Sayer and Morteau seek help from the brothers to destroy each other.

Gameplay
The map mostly consists of forests with dirt paths connecting the west and the east area of the island. There is an encampment in the west and a castle in the east. Before and during the battle, the whole map is shrouded, but most of the shroud (excluding the one hiding the inside of the house of pain) are removed after the battle.

The pre-battle and battle states of the island is labeled orange in the world map, indicating a decent-sized battle. The post-battle state is labeled green, with losing the scenario being almost impossible.

Pre-battle
Largo and Hugo start in the center-south shore of the island and have the non-exclusive options to go west and talk with Sayer and go east and talk with Dr. Morteau. The dialogue encourages the player to do both. On the east, the player can ask Dr. Morteau's goal and hear his offer to give the player 100 gold in exchange for them destroying Sayer and his other experiments. On the west, the player can ask what Sayer and his friends are and suggest revenge on Morteau. Either way, the scenario ends when the player choose the option to help either Morteau or Sayer.

Battle
Largo and Hugo start in the center-south shore of the island where an encampment for recalling has been made available. There is no recruit option for the battle, and the player is limited to the gold and recall they already have. Morteau and Sayer would begin recruiting from their respective keep, with Morteau recruiting bandits and dark adepts while Sayer recruits ghouls and walking corpses. The allied side always have significantly less gold than the enemy side.

The scenario has no turn limit and is won by killing the enemy leader (either Morteau or Sayer, depending on whom the player sides against). Death of the ally leader is a loss condition.

Post-battle
Dr. Morteau
Sayer
Largo and Hugo start in the center-south shore of the island where an encampment has been made available. The player can recruit walking corpses there and the other two keeps. Sayer now stands near the player's encampment and can be talked to for a quest with the following progression:
# Talking to Sayer, gives the player the key to Morteau's lab.
# Moving to the lab's door while having the key in the inventory automatically opens the door.
# Talking to Sayer after opening the door prompts the player to destroy the lab.
# Destroying the lab using a dwarven bomb fulfills the above prompt.
# When the player leaves after destroying the lab, Sayer joins the player's side as a follower, ending the quest.

Morteau's lab contains a hostile Necrophage, a device that can afflict the unit that steps on it with Morteau's curse, and a map revealing the location of "Temple of Ice" if it hasn't been discovered yet.

If the player visits the island against after the above quest is complete, there is nothing more to be done besides taking the Temple of Ice map for players who hasn't discovered the island.

The Altaz Mariners is a user-made campaign by jb and Bob_The_Mighty. It is a two-player campaign with non-linear progression, meaning the player is partially-free to play the campaign in the order they prefer, and RPG elements. The campaign takes place in an original setting where most of the world are the sea and the player controls two mariners named Largo and Hugo as they travel from island to island in search of revenge against their older brother Marco.

* Current campaign version: 3.6.0
* Available in add-ons servers: 1.8 (v1), 1.10 (v2), 1.14 (v3), 1.16 (v3), 1.18 (v3)
* Available translations: French

Gameplay
The player control two sides during the whole campaign, one led by Largo (side 1, red) and one by Hugo (side 2, blue). While recruiting, recalling, and upkeep work like in normal Wesnoth, the player's sides can't use standard village-based income and must collect gold through completing quests, finding loot, and selling loot. The campaign has RPG elements in form of a quest log, an inventory for quest items, conversations with adjacent NPCs, and heavy uses of dialogue-tree choice to decide how the gameplay would go.

The campaign consists of the "World Map" scenario which serves as a hub where the player controls the mariners' ship to travel from island to island, and all the other scenarios which follow a more typical Wesnoth format where the player controls their leaders and recruits/recalls to move and fight. These scenarios can be accessed by visiting an island in a hub or through a random encounter on the sea. Island names are labeled green, yellow, orange, and red, ordered by how difficult the island's scenario is (green is near-unloseable, red is a heavy battle).

After the first battle scenario, there is not set order on which island has to be visited first, although terrains such as deep water (when the player hasn't bought a better boat) and the storm in the south prevent some islands to be visited until the player is ready, and some choices may change the effect of visiting an island. Some islands are mutually exclusive and are set on the campaign's start, meaning the player needs to restart the entire campaign to get a different island.

Player's ship
Player traverses through the "World Map" (and a few other select scenarios) by controlling a ship unit. There are multiple ships that can be acquired and the ship type dictates not only the usual unit stats (movement, attacks), but also its cargo capacity and its size in hex (for random encounters). The available ship types are cutter, dhow, caravel, frigate, and galleon.

Cargo
Cargo in The Altaz Mariners consists of rum, jewels, and spices. The player's ship can carry a maximum amount of cargo (depending on the ship's type). Cargo can be found in maps and certain Trading Posts, and can be sold for gold in Trading Posts or to complete quests and trainings. The cost of buying a unit of cargo is usually 10 gold, but its price when sold depends on the Trading Post (the price increases the further the post is from the post that sells the cargo):

* "Dahazi Beach": 30 gold for rum, 29 gold for jewels, 5 gold for spices; sell spices
* "Fort Bastille": 33 gold for rum, 34 gold for jewels, 14 gold for spices
* "Greystone Port": 16 gold for rum, 18 gold for jewels, 31 gold for spices
* "Port Rutt": 25 gold for rum, 26 gold for jewels, 14 gold for spices
* "Reef Town"/"Thurh Gar": 23 gold for rum, 5 gold for jewels, 29 gold for spices; sell jewels
* "Griply"/"Newhart": 5 gold for rum, 23 gold for jewels, 30 gold for spices; sell rum
Storyline
Three brothers--Largo, Hugo, and Marco--have been traveling the seas as pirates since they are young, causing enough trouble that King Tylon puts a bounty on them. Marco decides to sell out his two brothers for a prize, leaving Largo and Hugo to rot in Altaz Gaol where they build up anger and desire for vengeance against their brother.

After a year of imprisonment, Largo and Hugo manage to break free of the gaol by convincing their ogre guards to turn against their bad boss. Now free men again, the brothers amass better ship, gold, and troops in their vengeance quest, but the way to the south where Marco is is blocked by a storm. Using an orb acquired from the Brotherhood of Ice, the brothers reach the south of the map.

However, it turns out that the islands in the south is being invaded by drakes, which has led Marco to align himself with the elves of Avalon as they are all have been doomed by King Tylon who has the Brotherhood of Ice create the storm so that the drakes can't go north, leaving Marco and the elves to die. Largo and Hugo agree to put their revenge aside and help the elves take down the storm by assassinating the Brotherhood's leader Frozenheart, but they are captured by the royals. Marco sells the brothers out again to save his own skin, but the brothers survive the royals' attempt to throw them to the nagas and find their way back to Avalon.

Largo, Hugo, and the elves of Avalon agree that they need to take King Tylon down. With the help of allies they gather during the adventure, Largo and Hugo coordinate the assault of Fort Liberty where the king is, personally killing him and getting revenge on the imprisoned Marco along the way. As a new government is installed to replace Tylon, the brothers slip away satisfied, although the drake danger still looms.

Due to the nature of the campaign, the above synopsis only covers the guaranteed storyline that reaches the final victory. The details of the story and optional subplots can be found depending on the campaign's initial setting and the player's dialogue and scenario choices.

Enemies
* Patrolling guards

Storyline
Largo and Hugo decide to sneak into the Royal Palace to find the location of Marco's island. In the palace's library, they discover a map revealing the island's name Lantos and its location in the south, at which point they escape the palace.

Gameplay
Largo and Hugo starts on the southern shore of the island, near the palace's only entrance. The entrance leads to a large room connected to seven other rooms (three of which are initially locked). The western room is the armory where the player can take an armor for quests, the eastern room is the kitchen where the player can take spices and rums. the open northwest room is a barrack containing a key to unlock the adjacent locked room which is the library, the open northeast room is a barrack containing a key to unlock the adjacent locked room which is the treasury, and the locked northern room is the bedroom. The library contains a book in one of the shelves and the map for Lantos (obtaining the map completes the initial objective) in the chest. The treasury contains two sets of gold sack worth 20 gold each and a pile that poisons the unit trying to pick it up. The bedroom contains a king statue that can be taken to be a figurehead. To unlock the bedroom doors, the player must kill an enemy guard.

Largo and Hugo are the only units available to the player and are given invisibility for this scenario. Enemy guards completely ignore them unless they step directly besides Largo or Hugo, at which point their roles are changed from "patroller" to "attacker". If an attacker isn't killed immediately, they will activate an alarm that sets all enemy units (including the ones sleeping in the barracks) on Largo and Hugo, which is guaranteed to overwhelm them unless the remaining objective is just to escape back to the ship. The guards move in predictable straight lines and can be avoided simply by not standing on or adjacent to the the lines.

Once the map is taken from the library, Largo and Hugo have to be moved back to the ship back at the start, at which point the scenario ends. There is no time limit. The palace can't be re-entered after the scenario is won the first time, so any leftover loot from the map can't be gained anymore.

"The Ivory Tower" is a scenario of The Altaz Mariners, being one of the campaign's optional islands to visit. The island is a city of Dunefolk containing a tower that serves as the Dunefolk's library.

Characters
Player's sides
* Largo
* Hugo
* Any previously recruited followers and units
Dunefolk
* Dylii
* Arko
* Wuhac
* Six guards

Monsters
* Giant scorpions

Gameplay
The scenario is normally a calm one with only a minor optional skirmish, but a quest to protect the tower from orcs may occur.

Normal state
Largo and Hugo start from the main gate at the south. The signposts can be used to teleport between areas quickly. Moving to the door at the highest point of the tower will lead to the "The Ivory Tower: Ground Floor" scenario.

All NPCs can be talked to, although most of the guards only respond in generic phrases. As for the others:
* Dylii can be talked to for information about the place.
* Wuhac can be talked to for the quest involving fighting scorpions in the northwest part of the map. The scorpions are the only hostiles for the player to fight in the scenario. Completing the quest gives the player 65 gold.
* Hutti can be talked to for buying these quest items: siren's blood (for 40 gold), rose oil (for 30 gold), crystalline vial (for 60 gold).
* Droso can be talked to for selling books (for 10 gold each) and the Scroll of Honor (for 50 gold, but Droso will disappear from the map on subsequent visits).

Orc attack
Largo and Hugo start on the player's ship where they can recall and exiting the ship leads to the southern shore of the map, Throughout the island, there are scattered units of the allied Dunefolk and the enemy orcs. To win, the player must kill all the orcs. Death of Dylii is a defeat condition. There is no turn limit.

After killing all the orcs, the player must move Largo or Hugo to besides Dylii and pick the reward. Afterwards, the scenario will immediately end. The possible rewards are:
* 20 XP for each mariner (if the player declines the gold reward),
* 100 gold for each mariner (if the player accepts the offered gold reward),
* 150 gold for each mariner (if the player demands double), and
* 200 gold for each mariner (if the player shows their Scroll of Honor)
Largo and Hugo arrive on the island based on the map that Hilldon dropped. After fighting a couple of nagas, particularly the strongest one named Guardian, the mariners are deemed worthy of the naga statue, which can inflict "Curse of the Naga" on the player's units. They may also find a shipwreck on the opposite end of the island, containing the weapons that Hilldon hides, and decide to remember it since they can't move them all by themselves.

Gameplay
Largo and Hugo start on the northwest shore of the island, which has a small keep and castle for recalling units. The enemy side consists of Naga Fighters, Naga Hunters (who has poison weapon special), Naga Warriors, and a unique naga unit named "Guardian".

The following items can be picked up:
* The naga statue in the southwest, which can inflict "Curse of the Naga" on the spot or as a figurehead if taken.
* A chest of jewels in the northeast.
* A chest containing 54 gold in the southeast.
* A shipwreck containing weapons that can't be picked up, but completes a step of a quest.

Revisiting the island doesn't do anything notable and the island has become enemy-less.

"Black Rock" is a scenario from The Altaz Mariners, being one of the campaign's visitable islands. The scenario is a small skirmish and can only be accessed if the Hilldon quest has progressed to the point the player has heard from Farrow that Hilldon once worked for Renaldo.

Characters
Player's sides
* Largo
* Hugo

Enemies
* Hilldon (first visit)
* Cocktarices (later visit)

Storyline
Having found out that Hilldon is hiding here from Rodgers on Farrow, Largo and Hugo land on small isle, telling their men to stay on the ship as they want to do this alone. After blocking a water stream separating them from Hilldon, they confront their former first mate, who explains that he dumped Renaldo's gold due to being boarded by the royals and offers the brothers a treasure map. Largo and Hugo prefer to kill him instead, although it is possible for Hilldon to escape instead. Either way, Hilldon would drop the map to Peoria Ruins.

If the cocktarices from Griply escape, they can be found here on re-visits.

Gameplay
First visit
Largo and Hugo start on the northwest shore of the island without any backup. They have to gather a boulder and some clay (from the mud hex) and use them (using the inventory) while standing in a walkable part of the waters blocking their path to the east. This turns the deep water hexes into shallow waters that the mariners can cross. Hilldon is hidden in the shroud and will attack the approaching player characters, but if he isn't killed immediately, he is likely to immediately go to his ship and escape. Whether the player kills Hilldon or not, he would drop a map (for accessing Peoria Ruins) that has to be picked up to end the scenario.
Local revolutionary Renaldo tells them that Marco worked with him seasons ago, but he would only tell more if the brothers help him overthrow Baron Lothar. After the brothers do so, Renaldo tells them that he gave Marco the Baron's best men for Marco's private army to weaken Lothar's supporters, but Marco has since went to Greystone Port.

The brothers may visit Farrow again for information, troops, and training. If the brothers have visited The Ivory Tower, a messenger falcon would arrive once to announce that the tower is being attacked by orcs and offering 200 gold for anyone willing to help. If the brothers have begun planning to attack Fort Liberty, they can ask Renaldo to join them. Renaldo would agree, unless the brothers have already secured the Black Blade's support for the attack.

Gameplay
The map is a reversed-"C"-shaped island with Renaldo's keeps and villages on the southern end of the island while Lothar's castle is on the opposite end. There are multiple keeps, castles, and villages spread on the way between the castles as well.

Battle
Largo and Hugo start near Renaldo's keep and and can recruit Spearman, Bowman, and Cavalryman in addition to recalling. Both player sides are each given one loyal Horseman and one loyal Cavalryman as well. Both Renaldo and Lothar's sides recruit Horseman, Bowman, Spearman, Heavy Infantryman, Cavalryman, and Fencer. Renaldo starts with 75 gold while Lothar starts with 200. Along the way, there are also a couple of Lieutenants from Lothar's side to fight as well.

The turn limit for winning the scenario is 40 turns. The player must defeat Lothar under the time limit and then step on his keep to finish the scenario. Death of Renaldo results in a scenario loss.

Post-battle
Largo and Hugo start near Renaldo's keep and still can recruit Spearman, Bowman, and Cavalryman in addition to recalling. The first time this island is visited post-battle (after the player visits the Ivory Tower) has a falcon showing up at the start to announce the quest to be done for when the player goes to the tower again.

The following NPCs can be talked to (all of which are not far from the keep):
* Renaldo, who can add the location of the Royal Palace if the player asks where Marco is, and can be offered to join the final battle in Fort Liberty if the player has reached that point and hasn't agreed to work with Deliana instead.
* Quentin, who can train a leader or a follower the sidestep ability for 70 gold.
* Rodgers, who can reveal where Hilldon is following his escape from Hideout: Black Rock.

There is also a dragoon statue near Renaldo's keep that can be stolen to be used as a figurehead, but only if it's night or the player has the invisible ability.
This is an unloseable scenario where players are simply meant to trade. By talking to Pitto, the player can choose to buy one or multiple of the slaves shown in the map for the price of the unit's standard cost. There is also a keep and castles near the dock where the player can recall a unit to be sold as a slave (for the price of the unit's normal cost plus a random value) by moving the unit adjacent to Pitto.

Additionally, Pitto can train a leader or follower unit to gain the leadership ability for three barrels of rum, while Bighorn can be hired to become a follower for 250 gold. There is also a tavern with the usual benefits.

Storyline
Largo and Hugo land their ship on a body of water in between two small isles that are mostly rocky mountains. If they set foot on the rocks, they would be attacked by trolls. If they have a Black Blade, they would use it to enter a locked hut in the northern isle.

Gameplay
Largo and Hugo start on their ship and have to exit it to enter the map. There are trolls attacking from all sides. Beating the trolls allow the player to leave by using their ship. There is no time limit.

There is an unreachable cave village hex in the northern isle. To make the village reachable, use the Black Blade in the inventory. Entering the village afterwards lead the player to "Black Blade Cavern".

If the player leaves without entering the village, re-visiting the island will lead them to a enemy-less version of this map. However, if the player already enters the village, this map is skipped as the player will always be lead straight to "Black Blade Cavern".

Storyline
Largo and Hugo are checking out their old hideout island, only to find some people using it. They find out that their former first mate Hilldon has been using it to lead their old crew, which the brothers consider a betrayal because he has been doing this instead of trying to rescue them from Altaz Gaol. Hilldon refuses to work under the brothers again and flees, leaving Largo and Hugo to pick up what he leaves behind including the remaining pirates.

If Largo and Hugo convince Moira to use their hideout for her brewing, they can meet her here again so they can help her start brewing again, giving her a cauldron and a magic mushroom to do so. In return, she gives the brothers one of her three special brews.

Gameplay
Battle
Largo, Hugo, and their followers start on the northwest shore of the hideout, with a reminder that they can re-enter their ship if they want to recall. There are a couple of low level enemy outlaw units between the player's units and Hilldon, but Hilldon is guaranteed to escape the moment he is spotted, at which point the leftover enemy units become the player's.

Post-battle
Largo and Hugo start on the northeast shore of the hideout. If Moira has been told to use the hideout, she canbe found in the cave.

"Fort Bastille" is a scenario from The Altaz Mariners, being one of the campaign's visitable islands. It is a battle-less scenario taking place in a royal fort whose main gameplay purpose is for trading and questing.

* Brother Darcus
* Jimmy James
* Percival
* Andok

Enemy NPCs
* General Leo
* Royal guards

Gameplay
This is a peaceful scenario where the only losing condition is to move next to an enemy unit. Only Largo and Hugo are available to the player in this map. The map is littered with various enemy units and allied NPCs. The allied NPCs include:
* Captain Athos, who has a quest involving finding a serpent in Deep Inside the waters near Elixion. Completing the quest by encountering and escaping the serpent gives the player 70 gold. Completing the quest by killing the serpent gives the player either 200 gold or a Galleon, depending on the player's choice.
* Brother Darcus, who has a quest involving finding his missing amulet. Completing the quest gives both Largo and Hugo extra 8 maximum hitpoints. He cannot be talked to by a player that has the Morteau curse.
* Danielo, who sells a Dhow (for 100 gold), a Caravel (for 125 gold), and a Frigate (for 175 gold) to replace the player's current ship.
* Percival, who is only relevant during the quest to give Crow's letter to an agent of the Black Blade situated there, which is him.

The notable locations include:
* A tavern for buying ale (for 3 gold) and getting sloshed (for 8 gold), which have a chance of increasing Largo and Hugo's maximum hitpoints.
* A trading port where the player can sell their rum for 33 gold, jewels for 34 gold, and spices for 14 gold. This is the best place for selling rum and jewels.
* A cauldron near Andok, which the player can buy or steal from him.
* A halberdier statue in the center of the fort, which is only accessible if Largo or Hugo has been trained in skirmisher ability. It can be stolen to be used for a figurehead.

"Farrow" is a scenario from The Altaz Mariners, being one of the visitable islands from the campaign. It features the island of Farrow in the middle of a civil war, with Largo and Hugo helping Renaldo overthrow the King Tylon-backed Baron Lothar.

Characters
Player's sides
* Largo
* Hugo
* Two horsemen and two cavalrymen
* Any previously recruited units

Renaldo's faction
* Renaldo

Lothar's faction
* Baron Lothar
* Captain Keller
* Captain Hobbs
* Captain Edwards

Storyline
Largo and Hugo land on the island in search of information about Marco, having heard that he crossed the island in his journey south.

If the brothers have begun planning to attack Fort Liberty, they can ask Renaldo to join them. Renaldo would agree, except if the brothers have already secured the Black Blade's support for the attack.
