General Info

Hi, I'm Hulavuta(Not my real name, if you hadn't guessed already). I'm an asian who is in 9th grade. I was born in New Jersey, and my parents came to America after fleeing from the war. Most people I meet keep saying I'm a terrible asian, as I: Don't have squinty eyes, get "C's" in Math, don't have an accent, I love Italian food, have a large interest in music (like bands and stuff), etc.

I first played Wesnoth back in who-knows-when year, but it was before 1.0 came out.(I think it was maybe .7 or .8) I remember that The Dark Hordes was mainline, and the Background picture was Konrad on a rock. (I think that pic is cooler than the current one) I got it from this Linux program that replaces your computers operating system to a Linux Arcade thing. (Like instead of Windows XP, I had a computer where every icon and the start menu had games)

The Campaign I am working on is Fossil, which is a story-centered campaign based on Saurians. I am secretly hoping it will become super popular and therefore make me a kind of "one-hit-wonder" and then I will leave and become a legend. (Hahahaha)

I like strategy games, Real-Time and Turn-Based, and I also like tactics games. The games I like include: StarCraft, Halo 2, Halo: Combat Evolved, Blob Wars, Portal, Garry's Mod, Counter-Strike, Rebelstar: Tactical Command, The Boktai Series, (Which I bet you've never heard of) the Metroid Series, lol Pokemon games, and a bunch more, that I can't name off the top of my head.

I like board games, and card games, my personal favorites are Speed, 13, and Texas Hold Em. (Thought I was gonna say Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh and Chaotic, right?) Board games I like are Monopoly, Risk, Sorry, Chess (Checkers is for faggots), and a game I created using chess pieces and a board, 2 normal dice, a Heroscape die, and a deck of cards. It plays kind of like Wesnoth mixed with Prince of War.

Music

I like all kinds of music, but my favorite genre would have to be rock, and variations on rock. (Like Soft-Rock and Heavy Metal) I like a lot of bands and singers, and I'm going to list a bunch of them right here: Matchbox Twenty, Barenaked Ladies, My Chemical Romance, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Tenacious D, Nirvana (R.I.P.), Three Days Grace, System of a Down, Boston, Billy Joel, Sheryl Crow, Ozzy Osbourne, Streetlight Manifesto, Queen, The Lonely Island, Michael Jackson, The Offspring, All American Rejects, Kansas, Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Village People, and Fray. I like some Jazz from Maynard Ferguson and Chuck Mangione, but I don't know many Jazz artists. I like more but I can't really name them off the top of my head right now.

Books It seems that I gain an interest in reading in all of my final years, (5th grade, 8th grade, etc.) and as I am in 8th grade this year, I've started to like a bunch of books. A few of my favorite authors are: Michael Chrichton (R.I.P.) Suzanne Collins, Roald Dahl(I know he writes Children's books, but, I like them. CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY FTW), Derek Landy, whoever writes the Halo and StarCraft books, and Animal Farm was a good book, but I haven't read anything else by him. I wouldn't really consider the writers of these next things "authors," but I am a big fan of the comic strips Pearls Before Swine, B.C., Get Fuzzy, Calvin and Hobbes, The Far Side, Luann, Mutts, Peanuts, Zits, and Pickles. I kinda like all comic strips, lol.

A Few of you are going to rip on me for not mentioning J.R.R. Tolkien, but I don't have the patience to read his books. Too long for me...(But I did a report on him for school!)

Origin of Username

Maybe I haven't told you this, but I LOVE dinosaurs. Dinosaurs were a big part of the choosing of my username, for reasons I will now state. As a kid, we would always go to my uncle's house whenever there was a party or something, and we would always play on his Nintendo 64. (You can start to tell this was a long time ago.) One of the games we liked to play was Diddy Kong Racing, and my favorite stage, I could swear that the background music was saying "Hulavuta." Mix this with the fact that I loved Dinosaurs, and dinosaurs were plentiful in this game. As you might have found out from the forums, I like writing stories too. I was still around the age where I played with Lego dinosaurs and stuff, and when I played, I would play out the epic story of Hulavuta, the dinosaur that could transform into other dinosaurs, (Keep in mind I was a kid, and my stories were still really childish and cheesy.) and the name just stuck. My disability in creating usernames for websites led me to just use it, and then it became a regular thing. The End.
