The Oldwood is the fifth scenario in The Rise of Wesnoth campaign.

Background

The Kingdom of Stormvale had been overrun by orcs from the distant west, brought to the Green Isle through gateways opened by the Wesfolk's Lich-Lords. Though its king, Eldaric IV, had perished, its populace had been evacuated by Prince Haldric.[1] Haldric was warned of orcish armies blocking his flight from Stormvale, so he turned his band of refugees towards the Oldwood Forest.[2][3]

Unknown to Haldric, however, Oldwood Forest was inhabited by a large number of woses, led by Elilmaldur-Rithrandil. The woses had poor relations with the humans, who had engaged in timber cutting within the Oldwood Forest.[4]
