Why shouldn't we edit this page?

I understand that you want to keep it in synch with the distributed manual, but not allowing editing cripples all the benefit of using a wiki in the first place - to develop the document collaboratively.

Wouldn't it make more sense to allow the wiki to be edited, then, when it comes time for a version release, eyeball the wiki, make any required tweaks, and package a snapshot of it with the version release?

According to ettin in #wesnoth-dev, this is done because the maintainer of the MANUAL file uses the wiki to edit it (but doesn't want others to edit it). So it's sort of a private page. --Allefant 23:47, 15 September 2005 (CEST)

It may be in the MANUAL author's interest to just update the manual with whatever happens to be here at release time. Otherwise, I'd recommend marking the page uneditable or taking it off the wiki entirely.

About traits section: (How is "Loyal" assigned?-Drake Raider)

About experience section: (How many Lvl. 6 units are there?-Drake Raider)

beoba was unable to find (and is still having trouble with): what the numbers for each weapon mean when attacking other units (i'm assuming something related to hit points, but so far I've only found pages that say "yeah, its got 6-3! woah!" without any explanation as to what the numbers actually mean.

there are many things in GettingStarted that likely should be added and/or merged into here, such as the scenario information.
